"chardcoins" on ebay

that's "ebay presence" of the retail outlet in the UK correct ?
I was checking out some auctions and noticed no paypal option, so I mailed them to ask what forms of payment are acceptable, and they suggested bank transfer.

red flags all over for me..

This is one of their typical appearing auctions. They've been complaining about the 240 auction mess-up for quite some time.

Unless they've been hijacked this is them...they had quite a run of bad feedback a couple years ago...stock photos, using photos of proofs for uncs--to better show up in photos or something like that was the reason (it was stated in the auctions but you know how well people read), they hold overseas checks for an eternity (okay 30 days) to clear and didn't always have great communication or respond to email. I have bought directly from their website awhile back..and other than the really looooonnnggg wait, it was great.

Are you sure you were talking to these guys and not some account hijaker...I've never heard of them insisting on a bank wire before. This is a direct link if you want to avoid ebay: taxfreegold aka chard

(ps, try a search on chard, they've been talked about here before awhile back)

  • I have watched a number of there items, bid on a few and never won. As far as I know they have never accepted paypal, my option for payment would be a check from a UK bank (as I have an account back across the pond). Cathy outlined their negs nicely and they seem to have cleared up their act in the last 12 months.
