Question about PSA cert verification

Sorry for all the ignorance tonight guys. I'm trying to do some pre-problem research to avoid post-problem anger. I just won an auction that I really, really wanted and I spent the last 10 minutes in jubilous celebration. Then the paranoia hit. image

When you enter in a cert number on the website will what pops up be the EXACT wording/phrasing as it appears on the slab? Essentially, I just purchased a card and the cert number checks out. The problem is that the variation listed on the slab is incorrect but when I type it into the website the correct variation pops up. Should I be concerned about this?

Also, what does it cost to have a card reholdered because they put the wrong variation name on the slab? Mucho thanks in advance guys.

Not sure about the first part of your question, but I believe they don't charge anything to correct a flip. I had one corrected not long ago for free.

That's what PSA refers to as a 'Mechanical Error'. It will be fixed free of charge for ya...

They'll fix it for free, but you will have to pay to ship it to them.
  • Can I slip it in with another sub on the same form or does it require its own paperwork?

  • I've known PSA to put on a wrong edition for some non sports cards. It happens and it can get easily fixed.

I believe they will fix the 'Mechanical Error' for free and also give you a free voucher for the shipping you incur. Of course, you'll incur shipping charges on your free voucher when you send that in, anyway...

Edit: To answer your question, I don't think so...
  • But I can box them up together, right? Just different forms?

PS. Would they still give me a voucher even though the error didn't occur on my sub?
