QB controversy in KC?

kcballboykcballboy Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭
I will bring this up here because it is becoming hot topic in KC with Trent Green's return looming and Huard being 4-2 as a starter.

Who would you guys go with?

I have my opinions but I would like to see what the national opinion is.

  • If it's working, dont change it.
  • When Green's healthy, he should return to starting.

They have won some games against some decent teams the last couple of games, so I'd stick with Huard until there's a reason not to.

Huard, unless he quits throwing the ball to Gonzalez and Kennison. Or if he keeps fumbling on his own 8 yard line.
  • this should not even be a question..when green is healthy he shoud be the unquestioned starter!
currently trying to complete these sets! any help is appreciated!!

Go with your hot hand. Trent Green will take 1-2 games to get acclimated to the quickness of the game. By that time, your playoff chances may be shot. With San Diego and Denver ahead of you, it's going to be tough, anyway, but I say leave Huard in there.

Huard is the second coming of Kurt Warner!!

Well, not quite, but it is sort of Deja Vu.

a few years ago a sixth-round QB from Michigan replaced a star QB and a similar "controversy" ensued. Seems it worked out ok keeping the new guy in...

I think if Green is ready, give him an extra couple of games to get back into it. Maybe give him the mop up duty if available. But he's got to be the guy down the stretch and if they get to the playoffs.

I keep hearing the Tom Brady references but Damon Huard is not Tom Brady. He hasn't started prior to this for a reason. When you are 33 and a career backup, there has been plenty of time to find you if you are in fact a diamond in the rough. Also, Trent Green has been one of the best QB's over the last 5 years and Drew Blesoe was, well Drew Bledsoe.

When it comes down to it, Trent Green is the guy that has led this team in the past and I couldn't imagine going with Huard against Denver/SD at the end of the season if Trent is available.
