Can anyone explain to me about all the Series 1 or 2 sets on Ebay?

I've seen a TON of sets out there on Ebay that are ONLY Series 1 or ONLY Series 2. Am I the only one who doesn't understand the reasoning behind this? I mean, who wants to buy only half a set? That'd be like buying only the first half or only the second half of a book or movie or something.image I can understand if it was say, 2007 Topps series 1 set before the series 2 is released, but for the older sets I just don't get it. Do you?

  • It's because some sets have better players in them and sell faster...
say if one year Series one cards were ok..I may have ripped 1/2 a wax case...or a vending case....but when series 2 came out and had better rookies or update cards...I may have ripped a case or two..or even multiple vending cases..

It depends on what was in packs for inserts also...

Then it's about mix.....some people are sitting home with one series and not another....and may want to buy the other 1/2 to complete a set.

One man's trash is anothers treasure..

To use one example, I would like someday to get a complete 1994 Score Gold Rush set. Well, on Ebay, there's a seller with the Series 2 set, and even the R/T set, but not the Series 1 set. Maybe the rest of you feel differently, but I'd just as soon hold out until I see a REAL complete set. I mean, you don't see vintage Ebayers selling, for example:

COMPLETE 1964 Topps Series 3 set!

1971 Topps Series 5 set; complete!

    See what I mean?
