selling near christmas

What are your thoughts on this?
I have two ways of looking at it.
1) If the auctions are too close to Christmas people might not have money to spend on cards
OR
2) They are in the buying mood and after buying gifts for everyone else feel it's time they spent money on themselves.

You can move some inventory leading up to Christmas time...........
