Are puerto rican 1 peso coins often counterfeit?

I saw 2 recently and I had my doubts whether they were genuine. Did they make alot of cast copies of these?

I'm not aware of any older fakes, but anything can be comming out of China these days. Buy from a dealer you know and trust and if in doubt pass. They are available with some looking.
