Picked this up today from a friend! I think it's very cool! Just imagine what rare coins (today) this probably held and dispensed! Gives me the chills. I put a Morgan, etc. so you could see it holding some old coins! It still dispensing them great! I need to clean it up a bit.
Thanks for letting me share.

I wouldn't clean it up too much, unless it was in danger from rust or some other major problem I would leave it alone....besides- it's probably, like the coins it used to hold, less valuable after it has been cleaned
Bank/trolly/etc.
Looks heavy also...not that portable.
Trying to comprehend giving change with Morgan Dollars...Whew

Early version of the Roach-coach, the guy used to ride a mule pulling a chuck wagon and had that thing strapped around his neck as he cooked up an e-coli burger for the masses.

Pretty cool old find though.....I am guessing it's from a bank...one that handled a LOT of gold as the key for the Morgan is nearly worn smooth or was replaced at some time as it doen's match the wear on the others.
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.

Yeah, I 99% sure its has been replaced, but it was replaced a long time ago for sure!

My guess would be a bank. One of the local banks here still uses devices very similar to than, but a little more recently made.

<< <i>That's really cool. There's a lot of history behind that thing. Too bad you'll never know its story. Oh well, at least your imagination can run wild with thoughts! >>
Yeah, I know! I wish it could talk.
