I could understand Topps having centering issues...

back in the early 80's but this new card is horrible.

    Nah. The t/b centering is too good for a real '82 Topps card.

    That card is perfectly centered. The original '82 they scanned was way off, though.

    I agree, production has long been the most galling aspect of cards. If they can figure out how to print cards on leather, wood, bubblegum, and every kind of paper, embed jerseys, patches, diamonds and dirt in them, get autographs in them, on them, and over them, and charge $500 for a single pack of 5 cards, why can't they figure out how to make them centered? I don't know exactly what the process is, but if it involves machinery and automation, I'd have to think that a tolerance of 1/10" is too much. I'd say the company that, just like in 1989, the company that comes out with a better product will be the popular one.
