Speaking of Finest Refractors

Was there a 1993 Football issue? I know there was 1994 Finest Football but I dont think I ever remember seeing any Emmitt Smith refractors.

Was 1994 Finest Football a sp set?

The first finest set produced by Topps was the 1992 Finest Football. As far as I know it was only available as complete sets. I dont think there were any refractors. But if my memory serves correctly there is an Emmitt in the set. They are available easly on Ebay. Then the there was baseball in 1993 in packs. Football starting in 1994 in packs. I dont think they were SP'd. I do know that the collation was terrible and it takes many boxes to build the full set. Refractors were inserted at a couple a box I think (1-3). I think Basketball started with the 93-94 season in packs, but it might have been 94-95 not sure on this one. They also made some hockey finest but I have no clue as to when it started and when it stopped.

Yeah, I do have a psa 1992 Finest Emmitt. I just think its weird they would make a set in '92 skip '93 then do one in '94.

I agree. Unless they wanted to test the market with the Baseball issue to see how well the packs would sell before printing a football issue. Remember at this time prices for packs were just starting to break the $1/pack barrier. '90 Leaf and '91 Stadium Club were the first preimum issues. I dont feel Upper Deck was a preimum issue until SP came out in '93.
