Incredible Pissin' Eagle! Are most struck thru reedings on the reverse?

I just LOVE image this one!

I only have (3) Struck thru reedings...An Ike, Kennedy and this Quarter.
They are all struck thru on the reverse.
Is there such a thing as a struck thru reeding on the obverse?
If so, about what % are obverse-vs-Reverse?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!image

LOL!! I almost fell out of my chair! Much more spectacular than the Pissin Minuteman.
Has something to do with the rev die being the anvil die and the trash falls on the rev die but you'll have to get conder101 or mike diamond to tell what years & issues were struck on what presses with what die setups.

Yes, with the esception of struck-through types that stick to the dies (grease, etc), most other struck-through types are more common on the reverse. The explanation is simple: gravity. It's easier for a foreign object to get caught in the die press and then to have an unstruck blank land on top of it than to have the foreign object land on top of the unstruck blank. With a few exceptions, most US coins have been struck with the reverse die on the bottom of the coining press, so most struck-throughs involving foreign objects are on the reverse of the struck coins.

ROTF! I know it's sophmoric, but that is almost as funny as our old schoolboy thing with the Pep Boys matches.

    Thanks!image

I got it off of a guy I met on eBay....image......I asked him if he had any cool Clad Quarter
Errors. And he sent me a few pics....I thought this was the coolest strike-thru reeding
I had ever seen! It resides in an ANACS MS63 holder and is also a partial collar.
I'll eventually get it into an NGC Holder so that I can throw it in my NGC Signature
    Clad Quarter Error set.
