Pick 'em apart, so I can learn how to figure these things out. Both coins purchased raw.

  • The 24 is a High end AU, but looks to be cleaned and scratched. The 1913 may go 63.

The red background is screwing up the color balance on your camera. I would reshoot them on a white background first.

58 on the 1924 assuming the color is natural. 64 on the 1913, but I wish I could make out the toning better.

Here is the 24. (these things are tough to photograph). The coin is mostly white with a rainbow around the rim.

Since you have the coin in hand, I can only assume you're right. However, the image makes the coin look brick red.

  • The 24 looks like its a AU-55 coin, but either it has nice luster or its cleaned.

The 13 type one looks MS-62/3, but lacks luster.

Hard to tell with those pictures, next time try to move your light source around to see what kind of different looks you can get. Use a incandescent light if your not all ready.

Take the coins outside and put them on a black object and then take the photos. Not in direct sunlight though because then to much glare. The red is really bad for seeing the coins as they really are. From what I see they both appear to be in at least AU but would be nice to see them in better light.

the 24 is cleaned & still glossy, the 1913 is an average ms coin.
