Anyone venture a guess as to the grade (ignore the 2x2)? It's not mine and I haven't a clue how to grade circulated Morgans.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you would explain what characteristics you looked at to arrive at your grade.

It might go VG8 but it's been washed/dipped at a minimum, so I'd net it down to GOOD. ----

edited to answer your question---when the eagle's right wing lines are gone or going, and the inside of the cotton balls are smmoth--you're lookingat vg-8 at best, generally just good 4/6. Loose the rims and its down to AG-3 or less. That's one simple way to quickly grade them. There's plenty of others-- F++????

Solid VG. If dipped, long ago (protected areas and device edges are not cleaned), but has minor tool marks and the fields show deliberate rub beyond normal wear. Possible edge gash at 2:00 on the reverse to check out in hand.
