Has anyone ever seen any of the above,if so what ya think they would go for?.I'm asking this because I happen to know where 3 of them are.I'm trying to make up my mind about buying them.The person I know wants $45 for the 3 of them.

    You can't have a Nickel struck on a larger planchet;
    it won't fit into the collar.

    (yes, there are a very few "helped" pcs. that are the exception to the firm rule)

    We need a better description of what the three coins look like - size, weight, etc.

    Without a better description, you should be careful, even at 3/$45

  • Most you can lose is $45---Go For It !
  • Possibly they are centered or even uncenterd broadstrikes where the nickel planchet has spread to roughly quarter diameter? If that is the case though they will not show the clad layers on the edge and the weight will be the same as for a nickel, 5 grams.
  • I'm thinking that somewhere along the lines, the description of the coins got messed up and the guy might have Washingtons struck on nickel planchets and at $45 dollars each, you are going to get a lot of "you suck" jealousy posts if you do buy them image
  • As usual,you guys are right.When I found out from this seller that they were Jefferson Nickels struck in a Quarter Planchet I thought he knew what he was talking about.When I went to his shop to purchase them I found out they were 1999 Jefferson Broadstrikes about the size of a quarter.I bought them for $4.00 each.I apologize for jumping the GUN on this one.
    Thanks for the feedback
