Who/What is the 'fluff' surrounding MLB/NFL/NBA directed at?

The thread about Paris Hilton opening MNF this week prompted me to post this. Although I can see the angle they're pushing with her, I'm not sure about the other crap they try to 'force feed' us all the time. Who decided that blaring ads and jumping Transformers (on Fox) were a good thing? I know I'm anxious to hear what's going on this week on 'Prison Break' during a crucial 4th quarter drive! Who decided that two hour Super Bowl halftime shows were good? And six hour pre games? I know it comes down to money, but there's just so much overkill with this stuff anymore. The hard core fans don't give a $hit about sideline reporters or what managers have on their mind in the bottom of the 7th inning. What, does ESPN have an 18 man crew now after a football game to comment? I'm just ranting on how hard it is just to watch a damn sporting event anymore...

That's why I play Madden. No annoying pregame or halftime. No anorexic crack whores. No nipple slips. No stupid football robot loosening up. Put John on mute.

And the best part, if I lose, I can always start over.

Life sure is grand in Maddenland image

What? Are you trying to kill ALL the fun? I can do without the "Prison Break" ads but a good shot of a nipple slip on 3rd and long is usually always a good thing.
