Oh, the maddness of this current market....
I love the competition to get choice coins as much as anyone. The current market is getting a bit silly, though. Earlier this afternoon I made an inquiry to my preferred dealer. In his response, he indicated that he would have a lot of nice newps posted to his website later today. I let a few of my collecting buddies know about this (only because they don't collect the same series as I do
) I just got an email from one buddy that the dealer in question was loading newps on the site as we speak. Now, like a crazed fool, I am continually pressing the refresh button on the dealer's site, and I can almost see this other prominent collector, halfway across the country, doing the same. As I take a quick break to type this and vent to the boards, I realize what a mad market this is and the silliness that we have to go through to get first shot at things.

If you're finding out the particulars only when the coins have been listed on the site, you're not in the "fisrt shot" ballpark - sorry, but sincerely.

Perhaps the fun of collecting is the competition for many.

Maybe it's not really collecting but about something else.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Amen brother. More likely to be in the 'first to be shot' ballpark.
