You should get Burdette's book that covers St. Gaudens. It is great and covers a ton of information that has not been previously written about.

My wife and I have gone there many times, it is a terrific place and those traveling around NH might want to head to Cornish for a visit. Here are some images we took in the summer a few years ago.

The Shaw Memorial is huge! The figures are life-sized and you may climb the base of the work to get a true glimpse of the nature of it. The site itself is open and allows free walking and investigation throughout. I highly recommend it.
