That's the bridge. I asked my father how that happened and he said it was because of the material the bridge was made of. I thought of material as what clothes were made of and wondered why they'd make a bridge out of that. Of course it would fall down.

We use the word "harmonics" for oscillating turbine shaft failure that can be conducted into the UH-60 transmissions…if left un-checked, these waves can destroy even the most rigid of metals. Attaching transducers to specific points on the transmissions in the test cell and then by reading print outs from the “vibes” while running is about the only way to detect these silent killers.

Yeah harmonics are simply the frequencies that are integral multiples of a fundamental frequency related to the wavelength. The harmonics are components of the overall wave, in construction of its form. It all comes down to dimensions and wavelengths.
