OT-Favorite Horror Movie character...

Since Halloween is closing in, I've been watching AMC's horror week movies. They are of course, edited but hey what can ya do? Who is your favorite horror movie villian(whateveryouwanttocallit)? My all-time favorite, is the first Halloween's portayal of Micheal Myers. Truely a horrific character. I remember in high school, a good friend bought the mask(not a chitty seasonal store one, a really high quality one) and we went around for a couple of weeks scaring our friends. He could portray Myers perfectly, and no one was let in on our prank. Good times.

  • What, the good guys don't get any love? My two favorite villains have already been mentioned so I'm going with my favorite good guy ... Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's version of THE THING. If anyone hasn't seen that they should check it out, great suspense.

I always enjoyed Donald Pleasance in the Halloween films. Poor guy could never get anyone to listen to him. "He's coming! He's coming TONIGHT!"

"Yup. Sure he is, pal. Okay, talk to you later." image

My favorite is Chucky from Child's Play. I have all the movies and several collectibles. I wanted my 3 1/2 year old son to be Chucky for Halloween but he wants to be a fireman instead. He knows who Chucky is though.

  • Michael Myers in the first two Halloween movies is the best. The later ones were really cheesy. I do have to mention though....Linda Blair in The Exorcist. I still have a tough time watching it!

Peter Boyle as the Monster in 'Young Frankenstein'. His song and dance routine with Gene Wilder to 'Puttin' on the Ritz' was quite chilling.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Igor, would you mind telling me whose brain I did put in?
Igor: And you won't be angry?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: I will NOT be angry.
    Igor: Abby someone.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby someone. Abby who?
    Igor: Abby Normal.
    Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby Normal?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?

    Mike Myers as well.
FYI; the mask they used on him was a William Shatner mask
that the makeup artist cut holes out of the eyes and messed up
    the hair.
  • Half way down th3e 2nd page and no mention of Leatherface? C'MON!!!!!!Mikey Myers sure is getting a lot of love though. Freddy was cool, the glove is an icon, and he had a sense of humour.

Rutger Hauer in the Hitcher is topnotch, as is the CandyMan (I think he was played by Sammy Sosa), and Max Jenke in the Horror Show. Also liked Scully & Mulder's boss in Shocker.

    image

Kudos for votes for Ash or Belial from Basket Case.

Rodney Dangerfield as the dad in Natural Born Killers was a tour de Force too.

None of them top the girl in the newly restored footage of the original Exorcist (Linda Blair - the so-called spider walk sequence - truly hair-raising).

The little indian statue that comes to life in Trilogy of Terror deserves honorable mention.

The scariest movie for me was the exorcist. I was a teenager when it came out and some buddies and me went to a drive-inn movie theater to see it. We were more like a car full of teenage girls watching that movie before it was over.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
