Rob Lifson's Letter

I would post it if I knew how but Rob Lifson, owner of Robert Edward Auctions, in a letter to his customers saying card alteration becoming wodespread and card doctors brazen and that some of the most sophisticated work is being done by employees of auction houses that also deal in cards. Praises grading cos. for doing what they can.
This may get interesting.

<< <i>Interesting that he sent it out on a night that 3 auctions are closing. >>
Good point. I never thought about that. Maybe Rob is trying to say that a few of the cards in this auction were the same ones he is talking about. Without accusing anyone, I think he is getting his point accross......

<< <i>I've always thought Rob's ads and emails were aimed at pointing out the difference between him and his former partner, Mastro. Could be wrong, but both the wording and the timing seem more than coincidental. >>
Rob was always his own man, long before he joined up with Mastros. When Rob, Ron Oser and a few others all joined forces to form the new "Supergroup" with Bill Mastro, you knew that there wasnt going to be enough money in the pot in the long run to keep them all happy. Heck, even Bill isnt part of Mastros anymore. I think too much time is being spent trying to top the last "all time auction high", and the items that would have been put on the shelf years ago are being allowed to pass because "we need 2,492 auction lots which average over 3,900.00 per lot" so we can become a bigger and bigger entity. Kinda like whats going on with ebay when you have to patrol so many items. With that much constant volume, you know more and more things are sliding by, maybe even with the help of turning a blind eye........
<< <i>baseballfanatic, where do you get that Bill is not involved with Mastros anymore? I just called up thier office the day before yesterday and spoke with him. >>
I meant he is more of a figurehead now after selling Mastronet to Silk Road Equity.....
