Need somewhat hi-res image of the original Peace Dollar Reverse design

I've seen some smaller images, but nothing with a decent amount of detail. Anyone have any they can post?

Thanks to all

Do you mean the design with the eagle holding a broken sword?

(I don't have one but was curious by "original ....design")

Yup. I think it's an extremely cool design image

The idea of a tatoo of the image (without legends or inscription) is dancing in my head imageimage

  • That's a nice design!

I'm just curious: Is it just me, or does the mint always pick the blandest design they can?? I remember something similar happening with the SBA. I've seen patterns that kick the crap outta the SBA and take its lunch money!
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

Look in Part II of "Renaissance of American Coinage 1916-1921" for images of all of deFrancisci's Peace dollar designs. Identify the one you want and send me a PM so I can send you an image for personal use.

The Peace dollar design was selected by the Commission of Fine Arts, not the US Mint. Mint and Treasury officials merely approved what they were given.

That would be cool and looks darn nice. I think I'd change it a bit though and replace the sword with a crescent.

Please post pictures if you happen to go through with it.
