I read the bios of the catalogers at Stack's. I am pretty impressed with their backgrounds

I got the new Stack's Norweb catalog last night. It is spectacular and I like the fact that it has an ANR-feel to it. I have never read about the backgrounds of the old Stack's group before, so I took a read through their bios. I was very impressed with their years of expertise and their specialized knowledge. I never knew the depth of research capabilities that the firm had. Each person was formally educated (no high school drop-outs who like to play with coins on the side), and many have advanced degrees from pretty good schools. For those who have not read the bios, here is a link: Stack's

That's a powerhouse with almost too much talent on one team. Maybe the principals should consult with Joe Torre on management techniques.
  • This would not be a good year to hire Torre.

One of Stack's leading cataloguers is David T. Alexander, who happened to be the Best Man at my wedding! We had worked together at Coin World back in the 70's, "chained to the same oar" as he used to say.

What always impressed me about Stacks is how few employees ever leave the firm. I understand the Stacks have been preety good over the years to their employees.

MrEureka works with an ex-Stacks employee who I have always admired over the years.
