“Do you multitask while reading/posting to, CU Forum?”

A question every Forum Member can answer, “Do you multitask while reading/posting to, CU Forum?”

When I came across this picture I thought to myself, now this guy is serious about his interneting experience, taking it to the extreme.
image

Are you doing anything else while browsing the CU posts?

I myself watch TV, play music (head phones if someone else is watching TV, on the phone or whatever) read mail, compose mail…etc. then jump back to CU to what has transpired.

And you? Is the concentration level so intense nothing can distract you from CU while your there…or are you like me, wander all over the place?

Always. If I didn't, I'd never get anything done.

I usually watch TV while reading the coin forums. Also, shouldn't your poll have more than one choice?

I hope the TV in the picture falls while the guy is laying there watching it image

I have added one more question (actually it's already in a form of a question) so the answer is not skewed in one direction, usually South for me.

I don't manage to do anything else while I read/post to the CU forum, except study coins. Tried drinking beer while on the forum, but after awhile, it interfered with my typing skills.image

I spend an inordinate amount of time on conference calls during the day, and often will spend time here instead of paying attention. image

I will also do a bit of surfing when watching TV, mostly during commericals -- wireless networks and laptops rock. image

On a slow day I have windows open for several brokerage accounts, an order page, a nasdaq screen, cu site & ebay. On a busy day I'll have additional windows open for several email, PM, & IM accounts plus whatever I'm googling at the time. That's in addition to my normal duties of cleaning my house, washing clothes, cooking, mowing my grass and flirting with the bartenders at the local beerjoints.

If missing my bids on eBay, Heritage and Teletrade while absorbed in a forum thread counts, then yes I do multitask. Oh that and explaining to my wife why it is important to write trivial comments to people I marginally know while doing things that are deemed otherwise important.

Yes, I'm on satellite and have a three second delay. Therefore I work Firefox with 10+tabs going on four different forums. This is the only one coin related btw. I surf during rendering time on another program. I really need a dual screen setup and a fancy mouse just for 3D software to speed things up. Add that to dictation software and things get done. Yet never gets finished. Plus I don't use the keyboard. A program called 'fitaly' and 'autohotkeys' lets me macro anything. Problem is when my computer goes down, I go into serious withdrawals. Then I thank god I backup in raid 1

I was playing my horn while reading posts a little while ago. The guy with the overhead CRT is just begging to wake up with his head inside a monitor one of these days.

I've got a TV next to my computer, and I'm usually perusing ebay while also on the CU boards. Occasionally, I'll also be eatin', and I'm nearly always drinkin'imageimage

imageWOW!!! It looks like about 75% of the people here are multitasking! A true talent?

Some very interesting replies to this question...peering into monitor...taking a look at what others are doing while Collector's Universe, Message Boards, U.S. Coin Forum, is on the screen.

I voted no because reading the coin forum and the reg. forum and working on the world series and reg. sets while checking the price guide all at the same time probably doesn't really count as multi-tasking. image
