What would you consider to be the 1952 Topps of basketball & football?

I would guess that the 1986-87 Fleer set would be the 1952 Topps of basketball, but what about football?

What about '61-'62 Fleer? Wilt's 'Rookie'...

For Football, I would say '52 Bowman Large...

35 national chicle football has a small set but it has short printed high numbers and has the most valuable football card in it. You can make a case for 52 bowman football too since the larger cards changed football cards from then on and there's plenty of big money rookie cards and that elusive lansford card.

Agreed. For hoops I'd say 1969 Topps (always seemed to me like the set that 'kicked off' the modern era of basketball cards) and for hockey I think I'd say 1955 Topps.
  • Definitely 52 Bowman Large for football

I'd say '35 National Chicle for football, '57 Topps for basketball and '51 Parkhurst for hockey.

Actually, I'm surprised no one else picked the 1986-87 Fleer b-ball set (with Jordan's most famous, or only? rookie) as the 1952 Topps of basketball. I mean, it seems to be THE basketball set as far as PSA set building goes. But what do I know? I'm baseball (and occassionally non-sport sets) only...image
