Bought a PSA 10, but was sent "raw garbage" instead! It sucks!

Does anyone know of this card, cert #?

I won this card, but was sent a raw example worth maybe $5 to $10 instead of a PSA 10 graded gem. I was hoping somebody knew this scan? I have a dispute claim with Paypal. Plus I used my credit card, as an extra line of safety. This really sucks!

A footnote: The seller claimed he had a family emergency and he had someone else mailing-out his auction items, and they sent me the wrong card (that just happened to be a raw Lou Whitaker rookie card!). He asked me to send him the incorrect card back and he would then refund me. Paypal said to wait until they sent me instructions on send his incorrect item back!

Refund? I wonder who owns the real PSA 10? image

Paypal came thru for me! image

The seller did not respond to Paypal's emails within 10 days! So I won the claim! That was cool! So Paypal sent $460.00 back to my credit card!

The "Buyer's Protection Plan" worked for me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, I picked-up the same card from Levi Bleam for almost $100 less this week. I'm happy!

So even if I didn't use a credit card, Paypal would have refunded me 100%! That's pretty cool!

edit: I will continue to use my credit card, when using Paypal, for that extra layer of protection, just in case!

    Holy Cr@p!
That has to be the worst bait-switch I've seen.

And a felony no less due to the value.

I wonder if the seller realizes that.

I had a bad feeling in my gut when I bid on this auction! I knew better, but wanted the card so much, I decided, if I win it I'll use a credit card with Paypal.

At least I have the "$ 1,000 buyer's protection plan" by Paypal, and as a last resort, I can put a claim in with my credit card co.

    We shall see!

I woulda had a bad feeling too if I bought anything from that seller. Little too shaky for me.

  • This is fairly apropos, as I just ran into the same situation, but received the graded card...or what is passed off as a graded card. What would you do in this situation? I beat out some other people on eBay for a graded 8 card from the mid-50's, for a few hundred bucks. I received the card yesterday, and my gast was completely flabbered when I saw the THREE -BENT- corners, gouges in the face of the card as well as some deep scuffs through the ink into white cardboard.

Any suggestions? Paid through Paypal, and honestly this is the first time I've gotten hosed, let alone to this degree.

As a rule the first thing I look for when deciding not to bid on a seller's auction is feedback whereby someone complains about their received item smelling of animal urine.

Rob - did he use signature confirmation on the delivery? if not it may be easier to go that route than deal with paypal and the cheating seller.

  • So you are going to leave him a negative right? That would help future bidders to know the truth.

    Well, no!

Seller did offer me a refund if I returned the incorrect item to him. I chose to go thru the dispute/claim process with Paypal first, and let Paypal, instruct me to return, or not to return the incorrect raw card to the Seller.

It turned out that this seller did not respond to Paypal's emails within 10 days, so I win the claim, its automatic!

I should get a negative feedback for being sooooooooo stupid as to take a chance and bid and win a $400+ item from a "56 feedback seller, with some recent negative back".

My bad! It turned-out ok, but I want to put this to bed:

She admitted (via an ebay message) that I was sent the wrong item.

    She offered me a refund.

She didn't challenge my Paypal claim.

I got 100% of my money back from Paypal!

Let her (I think her name is Tami?) continue to sell her Harley Davidson parts.

I'm done with it (her!)!!!! (If she really is a her? Selling Harley parts?) image

Sorry rdbjr1, I disagree. You should leave the negeative feedback, this is exactly what it is for. I assure you if I had sent you the incorrect item (By $400) I would have immediately sent the correct item. This seller is a bad for ebay. Not leaving the negative allows for this to happen again.

As far as the possibilty of a retalitory Neg, who cares. good buyers and sellers that may have a few retalitory negs are not affected by these negs.

    just my 2 cents
