Here's one I am waiting on to see if it has already been reported.

<< <i>NICE!! I just opened a box of mint nickels & found 11 more >>
So I should have been looking at nickels rather than those quarters....
I started looking just this week at some of my already graded ones in ms 69 and found 11 errors, as well as 7 errors out of 10 in the western journey nickle packs.
I really got a surprise when I searched mint sets and found in one single set DDO cent, DDR minn, and DDR 5C
I have now 3 different OVR errors I can not find variety on but should I send them in to potter or billy or wait for next months coin world? and save 30 bucks.
I talked to PCGS yesterday and they want 40 bucks a coin to attribute and grade. Darn thats alot of dough if I send in 20 or so. ANACS is charging less than half that if I know the DDR #. and 5 dollars more if they have to look it up.
Do you think the OV errors will catch on to make it worth my time and money spent? ASE sets have me bottomed out cash wise at this moment. But they are graded and shipped so may make some money there.

It appears these are turning into a Minnesota all over again. But frankly, I kind of like these DDR nickels better. Depending on the tilt, different stuff gets doubled -- and some of them are pretty bold. And like Minnesota, they are turning up in satin finish, business strike, and proof.
I've searched a bunch of sets (mint and nickel sets) and it appears to be feast or famine in most cases. It was like the problem dies all were in production at the same time. So lots of sets have nothing in terms of DDRs or DDOs -- then there are many sets that have more than one. I've heard that the 2005 P Oregon 25c #2 exists in the same set as the MN #4 -- and those are two of the best of the 25c DDRs. I have not been that lucky. But I did just get a lot of 50 nickel sets and over half had die varieties in them. The last batch of 50 I got from the mint had nothing. For the most part, they are not hard to find -- but finding a specific type is hard to do. I know a couple of other guys searching lots of sets. All of us have found stuff that the others have not found. So, I think the reason it is not hard to find them is because there will likely be 50+ different ones when all is said and done.
I think Billy has more listed, including most of the ones that KP had in the CW article. I just sent 15 different ones to John Wexler's 'nickel guy' Brian Ribar -- so now many of them will have Wexler IDs as well. But unlike the MN Quarters - attributors are not coodinating die numbers (which has turned out to be a slow and unworkable process) -- so KP's DDR#6 is Billy Crawfords CDDR-004 and happens to be Wexlers WDDR-004. I've pretty much stuck to submitting coins to Billy (and Brian for nickels) -- they have a really fast turn around time. KP still has a batch of nickels I sent him last January and I'm beginning to think I'll never get them back.
One that has not been reported in CW yet is the "FAT" OIV DDR -- where everything on the reverse appears swollen to about double the normal thickness. KP has seen it and was undecided about it being a DDR. Crawford and Wexler both have attributed it. It is really pretty cool and affects the entire reverse. Here are some photos (CDDR-010)
And FYI - just today I found a similar "FAT" nickel on the obverse of the 2005 P Bison. It is not as extreme -- but it has definitly got extra thickness -- showing up really well on LIBERTY and the mint mark.

Something tells me that there are going to be 100 of these DDRs between business strike, Satin Finish, and Proof nickels.
