another trashed coin story

reading all your kind replies to my prior thread made me recall another trashed coin story. when i first started collecting i bought a raw lynchburg. i showed it around to some dealers at the local van nuys show and the consensus grade was AU. i sent it in and pcgs called it a 64. since that episode i learned to stick to buying certified coins in the first place.
Here's to it and to it again.
If you don't do it when you get to it,
You'll never get to it to do it again.

  • If you learn to grade coins for yourself, then you'll enjoy the hobby
more and hopefully spot a few deals along the way.

I know its easier said than done, but I'm still learning too.

Really? You bought an AU and paid AU money and turned it into a 64. If you applied your "Buy certified in the first place" you would have paid 64 money for a coin that might be a 64, or just might be an AU that someone got lucky and managed to get into a 64 holder. image
