So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Yeah, but at 5'8" and about 195 I'm probably the world's flabbiest herbivore. I guess I can take solace in the fact that that's about 80 pounds less than the highwater mark during my totally depraved college days.

I'm 5'10" and 206, so we are pretty close!
I went to the game last night and it was a blast!! Very electric atmosphere despite the chilly temps.
As far as the biggest Cardinals Fan...I bought a World Series program last night and tucked my ticket stubs inside it. I personally thought that was cool because they have a home with the 1967 and 1968 World Series programs and ticket stubs that my father went to. It was nice to add to the family collection!
That's pretty cool. My mom went to Game 4 during the ill-fated '04 Series and gave me her stub, but I wanted nothing to do with it. Sold it for close to $50 on eBay - presumably to a Sox fan.
It's hard to believe we last won in 1982. I still remember going to the bus stop the next day and excitedly talking about the game with Jamie Herrin - and I think Angela Paul was there, too. I was 8, approaching 9, so I guess that was third grade. At that age, you think it's going to happen all the time, but it obviously doesn't work out that way. I teach fourth grade now and would love to see today's kids experience the thrill of victory during their formative baseball fan years.
Went to games in 64, 67, 68 , 82 , 85, 87 ( tickets to game 5 in 04), and sending a son at SLU to represent me in game tonight ( better him than me in the rain and cold)

I was 10 years old during the 1982 series, and I'll go my grave maintaining that it was the most exciting sporting event I've ever watched in my life.
But I also can't forget the despair of Game 6 in '85. When we lost, I hurled assorted lucky talismans at the wall as hard as I could. The funny thing is that I don't remember my parents being that upset with me since they could probably understand my sadness.
Oh man. When I saw people filing out tonight, I couldn't help but think, I bet it sucks to be down there. Isn't tomorrow's weather supposed to be worse?

We last won in 1985. And don't let any record book or sniveling Royals fan tell you otherwise!

Pfht!
Everyone knows that's an optical illusion, just like this one:

I would not be surprised if we did not get in Game 4 (which for ticket holders will be "Game 5") until Saturday night.
