First Find W/New G-250 Detector

Only had about a 1/2 hour to try out my new G-250 Detector, due to darkness. I found a nickle,1/2 oz fishing weight, and a nice find a 1903 Baltimore City issued Dog Tag.

Good start...finding nickels are a good sign.
  • Congrats. I have a friend at work who is going to buy one of those and start hitting the fields with me. Good bang for the buck.

  • Hulk...

What's your impression of the 250...?

They seem like a nice little machine, had one in hand but did not get to use it...

  • So far I like it of course it is a big improvement over my old Whites detector that is 20 years old. I can't believe how lite today's detectors are. My old Whites after using it for a few hours would make my arm/forearm and shoulder hurt. I'm sure the newer Whites detectors have improved too as far as ergonomically better. Haven't had a chance to get back out to detect since my first try so, I can't give you an honest report on the 250 but for now, it's great.

cool finds, interesting dog tag though.

Collect raw morgans, walkers, mercs, SLQ, barber q. Looking at getting into earlier date coins pre 1900s.
