I've actually had that happen to me twice. Of course, it was when I had been gone for 3-4 weeks on leave and had that much of mail to retrieveimage

I had that happen to me at my PO box. The lady behind the counter said "It looks like you have a lot of goodies today". Many of them know that I get packages and tend to check to see if I have any more if I go early on a Sat with a slip to collect a package.

I would hate to see my wife's look if that was on our front door. Hence to PO box.

Greg, it would be great to see of a pic of the look the Mrs. gave you as she is holding your new daughter when you get home.

  • This is actually really funny. You may want to consider making your house a warehouse so the mail carrier can just back in and unload all of your goodies. What'd you get anyways?...3 cases of '52 topps?

    Greg-

I got one of those at the office one time. The secretary brought it back and I just started laughing. image

  • I've noticed several buyers request that I send them cards at work. Is this common? I just try to run to the mail box before my wife gets home from work.

I did get busted once leaving a stack of padded envelopes in my box! Was going to retrieve them when my wife was at work. Ugh.

I recieve all my packages at my office. The post lady knows me well and will comment, " Nothing for you today." Meaning just business stuff and no little goodies.

I use to have the sent to me at work. I am way from home from 6:30-6:30 Mon-Fri and so is the wife. We have only curb side mailboxes. I felt much safer having items delivered at work. Now I have PO box so thats where they all go now.

I live in a city apartment building and the mailboxes are litterally from the 1910's. Magazines barely fit in them. One bubble mailer and its full.

Probably like most here on the boards, I look forward to the mail as soon as I get home... something about seeing the padded envelopes and small white boxes makes all the crap from a long day at work go away! I buy so much junk, I EXPECT something in the mail everyday, and when I get nothing....... let's just say I tend to get cranky.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

One time at work I was tied up on a call, so my wife opened the door. The UPS and Fed Ex guy were both there with packages, and just as they walked away the mailman gave her a few small ones.
We had to have a bit of a talk that nite.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I'm just glad that my wife doesn't see my Paypal and ebay activity. She has no interest at all, just as long as there is cash around when she wants some. If she knew the amount of $$ in and out she would have a fit, but $100 here and there during the month as well as paying for takeout-delivery of food and everything is fine.
  • Greg- I been there and I know the feeling. It's gotten to the point that my wifes friends give me a dirty look when I receive too many packagesimage

  • Guys, explain something to me. I understand why you get the PO box ... makes sense. But do you guys ever feel even a little bit weird having to sneak the packages and envelopes into the house without your old lady seeing 'em?

  • I used to sneak them in, have them sent to work and my parents house. Then one day I said no more. Needless to say my wife checks our bank acct. more often now. image
