Garrett "Scorpian Gold Stinger" opinions ?

I wanted to ask you guys if this is a decent beginner's detector ? I can buy a (new in box) for $350. Supposedly retails for $549.

Will be using it for coin hunts mostly...

Not what I'd be looking to buy to coin hunt if I was a newb IMO.

The Stinger is a gold prospecting detector and being such it will likely beep on every tiny piece of foil you pass the coil over.
This would be very frustrating as a beginner.

Just doing a web search...

Here's a GTAx 1250 @ $399.00 with Free S/H/I and Free Headphones...

There closing them out as the new 1300 is replacing them...

I'm told by a rep. the only difference is the sizing technology...

I just got one and like it very much, see my resent thread "Scored"...

Very easy learning curve and you can size things with the pin pointer...

I have no experience with this dealer so use due caution...
