SCORE...!

Been looking/researching for a new M/D for about a month now...

Have a White's 6000 DI from 20 years ago that I do not get along with..."-(

Pretty much settled on a Garrett 1500 or 2500 but the 250 looked interesting...

Off hand I went to a local dealers to see the M/D's...

He was a White's Dealer and pushed them hard but I had my heart set...

Said He could order the 1500 or 2500..."-( but did have a Garrett 150 & 250 on hand...

I Really liked the 250 in hand so decided to hunt on...

Found a coin shop in the phone book that carried a few M/D's and did have the 1500 & 2500...

Drove down and when that said a "few" they meant a "few", 4 to be exact..."-)

It was downtown so trying them out was not a option but I was very impressed...

The lady said I do have a "new in the box" Garrett GTAx1250 at a discount if your interested..."-)

I said how much, she said $300, I said SOLD..."-)

They list at $700 and are replaced by the 1300, no size technology but O'well...

Had a chance to get her out this weekend for about 4 hours, very easy learning curve...

Most are clad but I'm Stoked...!

Best finds... A '67 Wash, a '59 Lincon and a '00 Saq...

The Saq was very exciting as I could not see what it was right away, just big and brown..."-)

Yes, I was excited the day I found my only one as well.
Thought for sure it was a large cent or the like, til I cleaned it up.
    It still made my day!

That's the first thing I thought...

Then after cleaning wondered if it was a Cheerios Sac till I got home to look it up...

    It's wasn't but I'm happy..."-)

Splendid holey Bust half there... I am assembling a date set. Can't remember if I have an 1829 or not. I think so. Yours might be nicer than mine. That has nice hole placement and a small, tidy hole... it's PQ in holey collector terms! image

Prety good haul there Dave.....How do you like the machine so far??

    Mill...

I'm really liking the machine, very easy to use...

Went out a few more times since and always found something interesting...

Still have a lot to learn, so finding stuff along the way keeps me interested

Have not found a nickel or ring so I know I'm missing targets...

    LM...

Not really into date sets, just collect what I like...

Here's the latest, photo is washed out and the coin has the same patina as the first coin...

Very Kool history, only if these coins could talk...
