I have a couple of coins I am torn on, whether these have been cleaned & are retoning or this is possibly just the way some tone.
By tone, I mean turn brown from red.
I think the large cent is natural, just some red peeking through, but the half-cent......

I fear they will both come home in BB's. A shame since they both have great detail.
Cleaned and a poor attempt at an artificial retone on the half cent.
And environmental damage on the second one. And maybe a cleaning near the one cent on the rev.
