I agree, do not buy any SGC graded cards, PSA is the only way to go. They are the only company to have employees that actually know what they are looking at when it comes to grading cards.
60 EX 5: 80/20 or better centering, minor rounding or fuzzing of corners, roughness or chipping along edge (no layering), one VERY slight surface or "spider" crease may exist on one side of the card, gloss may be lost from surface with some scratching that does not detract from the aesthetics of the card.
Now I'm not a pixel counter but I'd say that description is on the money. Where is the "soft" centering issue? Koby, I could say that PSA has a reputation for..... (oh geez where do I start?). I dont think you'll find many complaints about the centering. It looks like they've matched their criteria.
There's no such thing as a psa 5 oc, only 7 oc and above. I think that Mantle's properly graded. I've seen PSA 6's that don't look that good. It does have a slight tilt but nevertheless, a nice example. SGC, BVG, GAI, and PSA are all pretty tough on grading. It all comes down to preference.
Does a PSA 5(OC) exist? I know that there are some PSA 6(OC)s, but they're pretty rare.
This card seems to meet PSA's centering requirements of 85/15 for a PSA 5. If anything, the card has a bit of a diamond cut, so PSA could give it a MC qualifier. So, this could potentially come back as a 5(MC). The card looks pretty good otherwise, though, so maybe it's a 6(MC), at worst?

I don't believe this is an example of a mis cut card. normally that applies to a card cut too close to one of the edges and a portion of the card on the side cut too close may not be visible. can be on front or back of the card. check the 75' topps mini thread for some examples of miscut cards.

Looks like a 7 OC to me.
Overall, it's an ugly card IMO.

Looks like a decent 5 to me. So many playa haters on here. BGS, PSA, and SGC are legit.
The only problem I see about this auction is "Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 22.5% Buyer's Premium."
Play On...
I agree with the Pimpmeister - PSA, SGC, GAI and Beckett are all legit and have their own niche in the marketplace.
And, BTW, if the hobby decided to accept "aftermarket" professionally sheetcut cards? That would ok with me.
Further, if the hobby decided that professionally "reworking" vintage was ok? That would be ok with me.
Heck, they restore movie posters - and it can actually increase the value of the poster.
As long as people "know" what they are getting.
Well...
that's my soapbox for the day.
thanx

ps: I would be proud to have that card for the right price.
That card is properly graded according to SGC guidelines and I'd gladly add it to my collection. Nothing wrong with a Mantle rookie in that condition.
GO SGC!
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
PSA, SGC are the toughest.
GAI and BVG are good but I think they grade a little softer compared to PSA and SGC.
They all have their market niche. They are all good.
I prefer SGC or PSA.

SGC has a reputation for being very soft on centering problems like this card.
If someone is looking for a crossover, I predict PSA 5 OC.
