Tough Break Mets

A great series, and you hung in there with a decimated starting pitching staff. Very gutsy and very exciting right until the end.

Congrats to the Cards image

Most Yankee fans don't hate the Mets. Frankly I have always rooted for the Mets except when they've played the Yanks in recent years.

Me too. I honestly didn't care who won, but that would have been cool to see.

Is Beltran now going to be chased out of NY too?

Great series. Very tough loss, especially when they got the first two runners on, but the Cards were the better teaqm and deserved to win.

Don't know why Beltran was taking on the first pitch. That was right in the wheelhouse. Guess he thought the rookie was rattled after the walk, but he guessed wrong.

  • It would have been a miracle, with the pitching staff what it was. I'm proud of the team considering how far they went. Well, wait till next year. It should be good one.

That first pitch was utterly crushable, the one he wanted, and Beltran knew it if you saw the look on his face afterwards.

Great curveball or not, it was un-nerving even for me to see him go down with the stick on his shoulder in that spot.

Same thing I thought. I thought he was going to end the game on the first pitch. I would not have been able to hit it but I at least guessed it was going to be a fastball for a strike. That sucks he was not thinking fastball!

Not the pitching though. The Yanks take the high paid guys no one else wants.

But I think the Cubs would be great with ARod and Beltran.

A great game throughout! Who would have thought the Card's .216 season average hitter would have come through THAT big???

I am a Yankees fan and was not at all rooting against the Mets. Once the Yanks were knocked out, I was hoping for the Mets to take it all.

Congrats to the Cardinals and their fans! Good luck in the WS!

  • Nothing like an "ice cream cone" catch and a great game 7 to bring an AWOL back. But things look different on the site.

Where is the old "Rant, Rant, Intelligent Post, More Rant" forum?

Anyway, I wasn't able to watch the game on TV. TV is in the other house. But I was following the game on the MLB scoreboard because game 7s are always special. What a surprise when I saw the HR in the 9th go up on the scoreboard.

Then I stared reading the reports, and finally saw a 3-shot set of the "great catch". THAT MUST HAVE BEEN GREAT TO SEE ON TV!

So, will our own So hit a homerun in the series? He wasn't in game 7 was he?

All's well here in Japan. Of course, you wouldn't care about that.

I wonder if my sig will still work? Let's hit the post button and see.

Mets played well and were gutsy, noone in the world thought the cards were taking that game after the HR robbery and Rolens toss into the crowd...

    exciting game/series in the end.

mets: well played, the future pitching staff looks bright with maine and perez (25 LH!)

    congrats cards !
