Tha was unreal. I was laughing to myself that I guess Randolph shouldn't have listened to Perez. That was quite a saver.

Best catch I've seen in years in the postseason! Maybe up there with Willie Mays in the '54 Series!

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Agreed. I don't know how a team recovers from that. Poor Rolen. Finally puts some lumber on the ball after 7,000 postseason at bats and still doesn't have a meaningful hit.

  • If the Mets can score in this inning it's likely over. Otherwise it's still a game.
  • Of course there is always Billy Wagner to consider image.

  • best postseason catch I've seen in my short life; few others rival that. Game 7; bringing it back in and holding onto it in the NLCS? If the Mets get the win, he's gonna be immortalized.

    Agreed.

Too bad the Mets couldn't cash in on the momentum at the plate, leaving the bases loaded.

I hate to rain on the party, but that was one heck of an inning pitched by Jeff Suppan. I can't believe he got out of that inning.

    Zef,

I'm not a Cardinals fan. What made you think I was? image

    frank,

do you still think Rolen deserves a spot on that all-time lineup?

I think Perez told him "Skip, I'm going to get this guy to hit into a double play." And he was right.

I disagree, anyone who saw that catch in the context of the game will NEVER forget it.

Ok, so he threw a ball into the stands 20 feet over the Pujols' head! image

Seriously, I watch Rolen every night, and I still consider him one of the best defensive third baseman that I have ever seen. If you don't think so, then you havn't seen him play very much. Also, the ball was very wet and it slipped out of his hands.
