I think Clark Smith had the exact same coin on Ebay a few months back for $58,000 -- before it got put in the NGC holder.

If it doesn't sell the first time, hey, why not raise the price by seven grand image

Clark Smith seems to find buyers for most of his Russian stuff, so he must be doing something right. I do admit...the plastic lends some credibility to the coin. I was skeptical about it listed as a $58k raw rouble. I dont know if it was worth a $7k bump in price....but all the more power to him.

Gawd, You'd think for that price they would put a little more time into a presentation as opposed to a quick flatbed scan of the piece...

It's an interesting coin, though it seems overpriced even in the extremely hot Russian coin market. There are a few different varities of this coin, but all the ones I found on the CoinArchives.com database seem to be a lot cheaper - in the 20 and 30 thousand dollar range. Considering we saw the same coin from the same seller months ago, my guess is that the price is just too high.
