Old NASCAR Stuff

My sister brought some things to me last week I had forgotten about. She handed me an envelope with about 9 postcards with drivers and their cars. These were from 1968 and 1969. It used to be the drivers gave these out at open houses and after the races. I put them somewhere and right at the moment have forgotten where. It's tough getting old, and cronic pain pills don't help much either. Driver cards I know were there:

Cale Yarborough and the 21 Wood Brothers 68 Mercury.
Leroy Yarbrough and the # 98 Junior Johnson Mercury.
Mario Andretti and the Holman Moody Ford.
A.J. Foyt and Banjo Matthews # 27 Ford.
James Hylton and his # 48 Ford.
Benny Parsons and his car.
Bud Moore and a Ford. Not the Bud Moore that owned the # 15 Ford but this was a young kid.

This ticks me off, I remember putting them away but for the life of me can't remember where. When I find them I will try and post some pics.

  • Left outDavid Pearson in the #17 Holman and Moody Ford.
Donnie Allison in Banjo Matthews # 27 Ford.
(A.J. Foyt was in a Jack Bowser prepared #27 Ford)
Richard Brooks in his #32 Plymouth Superbird.

I found the cards in my junk room.

That is an incedible lineup of drivers. I wish I could have seen them race. Sadly, few of them raced after I was born.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

  • I lived right outside Charlotte and a friend and I used to make it to about 15 to 18 NASCAR races a year. I loved racing back then and watch on TV some now. The last time I went to a race I was doing volunteer work with the local Shriners at Lowes Speedway.
