Gaylord Perry autographed baseball...

Okay, I'm pretty sure I did something incredibly stupid and on impulse. I was at a show this week in a mall and ran into a Gaylord Perry autographed baseball. I have a ton of his cards and thought why not. This will go well with my cards on display. They were asking for $20 which I thought was a fair deal. I asked them if they had a COA with the ball and they gave me a blank stare. I said asked them again and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I then explained what a COA is and the seller told me that he bought it in an antique shop in New England.
I think it's worth the $20 I spent, but I wonder if I got ripped. I'm posting a picture on here. If anyone could help it would be appreciated. And please save the remarks about my stupidity for another time.

Initially I thought it was not his sig. It looks way different than below

but after some more digging, I found one that looks more like yours. No "a" in Gaylord and the appearance of only one "r" in Perry.

The only thing that troubles me with yours is that is the only one I have seen that has the "y" in Perry without a loop and extending past the stem of the y so much.

Either way, it's only $20 and could prove to be an inexpensive lesson learned. If you were to buy one on eBay it would have cost you about the same $20 delivered, but it may have come with a COA. If you really want to know, ask PSA/DNA for a quick opinion and it will cost you $7(I think) more dollars and give you some piece of mind.

Another example, this one is from my fleer/si, certified by fleer

Edited to add: Most COAs aren't worth all that much, just enjoy it!

It looks like the real deal to me, when compared to the other examples. I wouldn't sweat it too much for $20. Rather than pay to have this one authenticated, you could just get yourself another, certified example.

Looks like a real signature - probably one signed in person as Perry was walking, rather than a relaxed signature while sitting at a show. I acquired many sigs at Fenway Park back in my day, and the autographs (usually obtained as players were walking into the park) don't necessarily look like the versions we're more used to seeing from signings and shows, but they're legit nonetheless. I vote real.

Zef mentioned going the PSA DNA way, I think thats a good idea.

Speaking of that, can you get PSA DNA to give a quick opinion without starting an Ebay auction?

Perry's sig varies depending on how much vasoline he's sporting.
