  • I prefer local wine, reds and very little white(I only drink it if the meal calls for it). I usually just pick up local award winners; cheap and very good.

NorCal wines of all types: Amador county is the best for tasting; great old vine zins. Sonoma next with the great chards. Napa last on the list!

  • I like red wines. I've found that I like Ravenswood Zinfandel quite a bit, and it's reasonably priced.

  • OK, 1er Cru fellow, what's your favorite grand cru vineyard?
  • Love Italian Reds. Right now I have a 1999 Orneillaia, two 2001 Le Serre Nuove, and a bunch of 1999 Castela Di Ama Brunello in my mini wine cellar. That's all special stuff, on a day to day basis I would take Le Volte which is from the same vineyard as the first two mentioned above, just a bit more easy on the wallet.
  • Not a real wine fan, per se, but I do prefer German Riesling and Gewurztraminer styles.

Oh, and if you haven't experienced ice wines, British Columbian wineries from the Okanagan Valley (where I grew up) are at the forefront.
  • Oliver Wine is my favorite. It's a region wine that I've grown to love. There Meade is really excellent. They're located in Bloomington, IN if anyone is the least bit interested.

If you like a Chardonnay, its a bit on the pricey side but Far Niente is incredible. It's a Napa Valley and worth every penny.
  • Sebastiani ...Eye of the Swan...White Pino Noir

The only place to get it is at the family winery in Sonoma and they only made 700 cases.

I like a nice '61 Chateau Petrus or an '82 Chateau Haut Brion. And for dessert, a 2000 Chateau D'Yquem usually does the trick. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to jump in my Dodge Viper and cruise down to Beverly Hills to meet Brad and Angelina on my yacht.

rattlesnake is the better of their lines. they also have a spring mountain designation for their "lower" end cab. It only cost about $60/bottle. They have a great tour. It is not like mondavi. I am a big fan and set up a tour and it was great. awesome views, winemaker was working in the barn and busted the bung on new vintage and let me sample. You dont get to do that very often. I recommend a 1.5 of rattlesnake, it will make a good time appear out of nowhere.

    Watermelon or Muscadine wine

OR maybe a bottle of 87 Mondavi Rose.

  • I prefer full body red wines. Some that I enjoy are Stags Leap region cabs (like Jackie), Spanish wines (like Torres Las Planas) and Portugese wines (like Quinta Vallado Reserve).
