Giants Opening Day Bat

Hello, my friend was recently given an autographed baseball bat as a gift. Its a limited edition bat that was given out on opening day in San Francisco in the year 2000, and is numbered 353 of 2000. Its autographed by the entire team that year, including Bonds and i think Jeff Kent. Its a full size wooden bat with a bunch of writing and pictures on it, acknowledging the tenants and owners of the park, and has a picture of the stadium on it. If anybody has any idea on how much this bat is worth, he and I would love to know, we're wondering how much it would go for on the internet. Thanks a bunch. By the way, here's a picture.

I'll take a stab...I am in the SF area and can't say I've actually seen one of those for sale. I think what you have is a special edition commemorative bat signed by the SF Giants team for the opening of their new park which was named Pac Bell Park at the time.

Given that it has a numbered edition of 2000 from your picture, I can't say that it's super rare, but like I said I haven't seen one. Perhaps many were given to corporate and political types.

As to value, I would say that it has more value to a Giants team collector than as a Bonds item. Rough guess it would bring 300-500 on eBay, with a PSA/DNA cert maybe a little more.

    picture is not good.

It would need some sort of certification to do well on Ebay, I think, and I think $300-$350 might be a good range...., perhaps a bit high.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Alright thanks a bunch guys, yeah the pic i took was last minute, if we were to sell it online we'd take ones that were way better with a digital camera.
  • Are the autos real?

2,000 seems like a lot for a team signed item. I would check to make sure the signatures are not facsimile.

2000 may seem like a lot but the opening of this new ballpark was a REALLY big deal around these parts. It was built using only private funds so they might have used something like this as a thank you to big donors.
  • Any chance I could get a few more detailed pictures emailed over to me?
