Can anyone identify this coin

I was rummaging through my junk box looking for anything worth putting on the bay and came across this, (using the term loosely), coin. I was given it about 20 years ago by my grandfather with a lot of other bits and pieces. Anyway this coin looks to be bronze and about the size of a British halfpenny but much thinner and with a milled edge. On one side around the outside is PAMPHILON BROMLEY KENT with EstD 1775 in the middle and on the other side filling it completely is VOS. Anyone know what it is, I assume some type of token?
