Hello fellow darkiders

No, I don't have power yet. I am at my sister's house south of Buffalo who just had her power restored.
Our power went out 4:40 PM on last Thursday. I talked to the power company today and they said we 'MIGHT' have power by 6 PM Wednesday.
We are surviving but this isn't fun. For the first four days we had to manually empty our sump pump to keep it from flooding the basement. Friday night we had to bail out the water from the sump hole every 30 to 40 minutes. That was all night long. I didn't get much sleep that night. We finally got a small generator that we hooked up to the sump pump last night so no more bailing the water out of the hole. Last night was the first night since last Wed. night I actually got much sleep.
In total we received 24 inches of very, very wet snow which is all melted now.
The town where I live, the Town of Tonawanda, population of about 90,000, was serverly hit by the storm. At one point 98% of the Town was without power. Over 50,000 trees in the town have been damaged or destroyed.
Once I get my power back, hopefully tomorrow, I'll post some pictures.
Gotta go. Hope all is well.

Glad you're ok.

Best wishe's, ozzysdad......
I'm glad things are slowly coming back. Good score getting the generator.
Fortunately we had a toilet close to the sump hole to dump the water. By keeping the water
very low for a couple hours we got far enough ahead of it that we could sleep four hours at a time.
Hang in there.
Keep us posted. Hope everything gets back to normal real soon.
