The Dolphins. After a great finish last season much was expected of them this year.

  • I remember(as certainly you all do) the hype machine that the media created around Miami. First off, why the hype? I doubt any of us have confused Chris Chambers for Randy Moss or Chris Carter. Secondly, Culpepper is still not the same guy and comparing his injury with Palmers shouldn't be done. 2 different types of QBs all together.

Arizona is an up and coming team; I hope they retain Dennis Green as he is the coach that this organization needs. Thankfully they got Warner out of there, I remember his time with the Giants and although he handed a winning record off to Eli we all knew it was time. Once that O-line gets out of the mental ward this team will be very dangerous. O-line mistakes are killing this team, but Leinart is proving to the NFL he deserves to be not only a starter but a star in this league. Also, with the offensive weapons this team has there is no reason he shouldn't become one. Hell, if McCown was still here he'd be a playmaker(as he was, keeping with my belief he should start in Detroit).

Bucs, well this team is righting itself. The injury to Simms was a shocker, especially after this offseason where the franchise reorganized to show to Simms he was the starter by not resigning Griese. His injury(I doubt he'll be back as a Buc after his return) and the suprising dissapearance of the run D for the first games was shocking. I mean, who would've thunk it you could succeed by running of the Bucs D. But, that rook Gradkowski(sp? don't know) and the D have both stepped up together and I believe righted the ship.

Pitt, I didn't expect much in the beginning of the season with Big Ben having to shake off so much rust and rebuild his body. Couple that with Hines Wards hammy issue and the opposing D's just keying on the run; most think it was a mistake to start Ben and keep him in. I say it wasn't, b/c it got his game speed rust off earlier rather than later. They'll be back.

My most dissapointing, The Giants. Toughest schedule and they seemingly have righted the ship but they've looked REAL bad sometimes.

The hype behind the Cards and Fish was big and so some extent that is why they have been disappointing. How different would the
season of been if Miami wins that first game in Pittsburg?

Without Chris Simms throwing it to the other team, the Bucs are most likely 4-1. The defense has looked bad in only one
game and that was the first game of the season. I don't care who you are, if you defense is constantly asked to defend only
20 or 30 yards for a touchdown, then you are going to get scored on. Simms has killed us way more than any defensive performance
    this year.

Of course no one gave the Bucs a chance this year, so there is no disappointment there, as it looks right now, once again the
toughest division in the league is the NFC South.

  • Joe-I like Simms, but IMO he's not a starter in the NFL. I would've loved to the Giants pick him up as a lifer backup b/c thats all I think he'll ever be. That rook though, sure seems the MAC is the QB nest for college.

  • Greg-lol. I understand, but as a lifetime Marylander I've learned 2 things. Maryland Blue Crabs are the best in Maryland, and the Redskins never live up to the hype. Now, that I live in DC the hype is so much bigger. The majority of fans here honestly believe the Skins are SB contenders. The Skins are the Yankees minus the success. They have a good core, they need to draft and PLAY smarter. WAY to many coaches and other staff members on the team, they need a smaller staff so the O and D are both on the same page. Right now, that's not happening. They haven't figured out what works but I see them getting hot at the end of the season. They win the games everyone thinks they'll lose, and dissapoint when they are the favorites.

Daunte Culpepper was absolutely brutal before he blew his knee out last year. BRUTAL. He did have a season for the ages in 2004, but showed times of ineptness at times. I don't think you can blame his decision making and fumblitis on a bad knee. Glad he's out of MN --- not happy that Moss was ousted.
    Enjoy your collection!

hah another 'swipe' by the resident dope.

Most disappointing? How about the texans? They sign moulds, have a great receiver and QB in Johnson and Carr, and then they blow the #1 pick?

That, to me, would be the biggest disappointment...make one of the options 'texans not signing Reggie Bush' and that'll have my vote.

  • Ax-The Texans have made bad decision after bad decision since the teams inception. First pick in the expansion draft.....Tony Boselli. They have to yet to have an impact draft(considering the position in drafts since) considering the pool of talent available.

    Miami, by a longshot.

Twinkerbell, let me give you a quick lesson...

To be disappointed in something, you have high expectations of said something. As you have said at least 1,000 times, the Texans were expected to do nothing... Therefore, one cannot be disappointed about their current performance.

On the other hand, the Bucs, Miami, etc had HUGE expectations going into this season. So far, they have failed miserably.

    Dope.

I would think the #1 pick would offer high expectations...though, with the texan's past in picks you never know.

But I wasn't talking about their performance...I spoke directly to their disappointment in drafting.

And it was pure coincidence you posted this, with the Bucs in the first choice, only because you despise everything I say, right?

    You're a petty, foolish clown.

How are those TO nightmares treating you? Do you still hear chants of 'three touchdowns! three touchdowns!' as you clutch your mommy's pillow late at night?

<< <i>Perhaps it's because I'm such a big fan, but I think the Raiders have been pretty disappointing. They could honestly go winless and will probably not win more than 2 games. I'm not sure that anyone expected anything close to that. >>

    I expected it

    Art Shell?

    Aaron Brooks?

That nail was in the coffin long before the season started.
