question about Swiss Canton Batzen coinage

I was at a coin show this last weekend and I picked up a 1827 1 batzen from the Freiburg canton. I purchased it because I saw something I thought was pretty neat - it's actually struck over an 1811 issue, with clear hints of the original design underneath.
I will try and image it later, but the large 1 on the reverse is clear underneath the revised design of the two year type that followed in 27 & 28.
Anyone know if this is more common than not on these earlier batzen issues?
