Question about set registry and free grading when >75% complete

Hi all,

Can you use the same card in different sets to be eligible for free grading certificates per the registry rules. Example...my basic set gets to >75% complete and is 600 cards in total for set. Registry rules say your eligible for 5 free grading certificates. Question...can I now use those same cards for team sets and be eligible for other free grading certificates??

Thanks to all

Jeff

I thought you could only use them for cards from the set for which you got the certificate. Though I stand to be corrected if otherwise.

yes you can add them to the team sets and get one freebie...for the team sets. They are very specific on this. So I submitted my free 55 topps for +75 on my 55 topps with one yankee to get the freebie for one more yankee

Hey RipMass man........I see you are an expert on this now......imageimage............and do not forget to say that all the freebies can be sent in at the same time ( from the same set) to save on postage!! ....just make sure and fill out the form correctly image

Rip Mass man knows a fellow collector who ,by the way, was NOT a member of PSA who got 5 freebies for his entire 72 Topps set and filled in all the team sets and got 11 more freebies.......Of course with the team freebies, the freebie had to be a card from that team set.

  • Heres another question,
You get your free grades for 75% compeltion, Then the number of cards goes up (player set card addition) Say the number goes from 50 to 100. You get 75% again, are you entitled to another free grading?

My set is at 100%. Can I use a free grading certificate to try to upgrade one of my cards?

Tom- yes. And there is no follow up to see if it actually makes it into that set. You could get 75% on a Hall of Fame set, and use the cards from the free grading to enter into your '71 Topps set, for example, as long as you submitted a card of a player that is part of the HOF set.
