Is this Babe Ruth PSA/DNA Autograph a Scam?

I just saw this listing on eBay and it looks like a scam to me. While I'm not the world's most foremost authority on Ruth signatures, this one just looks bad. As you can tell the PSA/DNA sticker is blurred on the photo of the 3x5 and it also appears that they photo-shopped this image on another PSA/DNA letter. If the board agrees with me, what do we do to make this disappear?

I wouldn't bid because of the 0 feedback, and

That psa/dna cert lookup says mrs babe ruth. Probably a typo, but it's enough for me.

The date on the psa letter is Thursday 02, 2006.

There's something changed on the psa letter also. It says "This letter will serve as a certificate of authenticity for (can't read, maybe w'an) Mr. Babe Ruth signed index card.

I can't think of a word that would fit there where I can't read what it says.

  • Linky go bye bye. Might be a case where the over sensitive ebay did its' job right
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

I'm glad that eBay removed it. I emailed the seller earlier and informed him that I was reporting it and I got the usual "i know nothing about baseball" and "if you don't like it, don't bid" song & dance reply that most scammers use.

Send the link into PSA/DNA. They may want to go after the person for forgery of their certification letter.
    Who is Rober Maris?
  • When I see an high priced non slabbed index card with PSA/JSA letter I assume the auto is a fake.

In my view if I had one of these cards I would want it slabbed by PSA or JSA.

Do you trust the letter only certifications ?

What email address for PSA/DNA do you suggest I use (Feel free to report this guy as well!)?

Deppending on the source, I do trust them. From the likes of Scott Gaynor, Curtis Booster, Mastronet's eBay ID, ScottDFran, and a few others, I'd trust it in a heartbeat. Others I'd be less likely to.

I'd start with info@psadna.com , and just put "Questionable PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity" in the subject line. Add the details and the eBay link in your email, and they should be able to handle it from there.
