My wife and I just moved into a new house (new to us anyway) that was built in 1897. My son was metal detecting today and found this. It measures aprox 1" tall by 3/4" wide.
You can't read it in the picture that I am providing but it looks like it says "CRATIA DEI SERVATUS" and there are also some roman numerals at the bottom.
On the back I found an 1888...not sure if that is a date or not.
Thank you in advance for your help.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
