This question may have been asked, but I will ask it anyway.

What year, including Gold, did they make the most "different" circulating coinage? Total coins.

example:
1c, 2c, 3c, 5c, 10c, etc...
Philly, N.O., San fran, C.C. etc...

Later, Paul.

I am going to make a mostly off-the-cuff-guess of either 1857, but I am prepared to be spanked for it. image

2004 halfs, sacs, silvers, proofs, etc. are not really circulating coinage.

    2004 has a lot of non-circulating coinage.

I always thought it was 1873, but I'm not positive.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Many coins come in two date types: open 3 and closed 3.
