Bust Half Dime with Cud

I don't think I have posted this one before. I have a few examples of this die marriage and remarriage (1831 LM-1.3), but this is the latest die state example I own. I don't care about so-called problems the coin has.

Cuds are great as a late die state image

This has always been one of my favorite remarriages, perhaps explaining why I have fully fourteen examples of this marriage, in various die states, in my collection. This is the only remarriage sequence for the series that I discovered, in 1994, as outlined in the Logan/McCloskey reference for the Reverse L Deterioration. This same reverse die was involved in a triple remarriage, with obverse dies from both 1830 and 1831. Your coin is an example of the latest die state seen, the old Reiver Die State d, now designated LM-1.3. I have a nicely toned AU-58 example of this die state, with the same state of the retained cud.

A scarcer die state for this marriage is the VEDS, without S2 filled. Only a very few examples have surfaced for this early die state, and none are known in perfect die state, without the filling in the left side of M1.

MrHalfDime, where's that digital camera you promised to get for yourself? We'd love to see a photo or two image
