Has panic time set in for the Steelers?

At 1-3? If not now I would say 1-4 would do it.

I agree. If they can't beat the Chiefs at home Sunday, I'd say they're done. Big Ben has looked off so far this year (understandable with all he's been through), but IMO the player the Steelers are really missing is Bettis. They have no one to replace him and it shows. Bettis was a lot more valuable than most people gave him credit for. Parker is a gifted back, but he's not the smash mouth kind of back that the Steelers need in certain situations.

I wouldn't say it's so much their record as it is the 2 teams in front of them...I don't think they have what it takes to make the playoffs.

Yeah, they're done. Ben is so far off right now that he doesn't even look like a starter. He's starting to look like the next Kurt Warner. Hero to Zero. I agree about Bettis and I throw in Randle El also. Too much to lose at once. They need to go after a back that will drop his head and just flat out knock people on their collective asses. They lack that right now and they're offense has always been built around that type of play.

I'll give you Cincy, but Baltimore will not even make the playoffs this year. The Steelers may not, either, but Baltimore is not making it with their inept offense...

A little quick to say hero to zero. It's been 4 games into a season after the Super Bowl. His offseason consisted of a motorcycle wreck and and appendectomy. You try playing QB after that...
  • WabittwaxWabittwax Posts: 1,984 ✭✭✭
Yeah, maybe. I just get the feeling that he may never be the same. To go from ssoooo good to ssoooo bad is a huge swing. Maybe next offseason will do him some good.

their offense is about equal to the steelers... This year is showing how OVERRATED that qb you guys have is... time to call tommy maddox back or something.

  • i think its time to panic a little... i mean as a bengals fan ive watched many steelers games and i think that they will bounce back..but with us and baltimore in front of them i dont think there gonna be able to recover that much, now im not sure if baltimore is going to be able to keep this up and i really hope not, lol, but i guess we just have to see if big ben can turn his season around and mcnair doesnt start feeling his age lol

It may be time for the Bungles to start worrying, too. You get absolutely shredded by New England and then lose to a winless team. Yeah, the Steelers should worry about themselves...

steelers lose 3 in a row, and are behind 2 teams in the division?

Yeah, they should be worried about their season.

You honestly think the Bengals and Ravens are elite teams? The Steelers may not be, either, but I'm certainly not scared of those two teams. The Bengals needed FIVE turnovers against the Steelers and it was still a game to the very end. Enjoy your only victory of the year, Bucs...

Come on, I didn't say either were 'elite' teams, I simply pointed out the facts of the situation: the steelers are trailing 2 teams in the division, and both teams have far more talent than the steelers do.

Don't worry, few people see what Ax sees, that's why no one takes him the least bit seriously.

  • gosteelers you make fun of my team for having to have 5 turnovers to beat you..but your team gave the ball up 5 times!!!! does that make you elite??! you may not fear us or respect us because all of our years of suck!! but those are the bungels of old...soon your butt hole will pucker up every time you hear someone say palmer and johnson...you had a fluke year that was pushed ahead by cheap shot on palmer, one of if not the best qb in the nfl..so please begin your sweating cause its gonna be along season..

p.s. you should thank us for your win over KC today cause if we didnt hurt trent green, which i hate to see, you would still be sittin there with 1 win..which was given to you by charlie batch! lol

The Steelers outrushed them 170-87 in the game. Sounds like total domination to me. You're acting like a typical fan of a team that's never done anything in the NFL and are finally beginning to sniff success. Don't get too excited about a team that can't beat Tampa Bay, seriously...

Hope the Steelers enjoyed their early Christman present. That game made me sick. So much for starting to feel good about our defense

On a side note. I like Polomalu's style of play but I've always been waiting to see someone use his hair against him. BS flag though. It was obvoius that his hair got stuck in the velcro of LJ's gloves after the play. image

Maybe I spoke too soon. The Steelers absolutely dominated every aspect of that game. Cheifs aren't Superbowl bound but they're a pretty solid team. Roth looked incredible. Hopefully this is the turn they needed. Maybe they're not done this season. Bengals and Ravens are solid teams but neither is too good for the Steelers to catch up to.

Polomalu is the s**t. They guy is all over the field. I'm glad he's a Steeler.
  • ok gosteelers, you act like last years super bowl wasnt a fluke for you guys..ok, this year just try to win the division will ya! and yeah you outrushed us bad, awesome, wait wait did you win?? i have a bad memory..tommy maddox must of had a bad game

This will be my last post to you. As they say, look at the hand. Does it really matter how you get the rings, five rings, that is? You know, there was a time about 4-5 years ago when 5-10 Bengals fans existed in the world. At Cincy home games against Pittsburgh, the crowd would be 90-10 Steeler fans. Now, everyone is SO proud to wear their orange and black jerseys. The question I have for you, is your mediocre Bungles bandwagon full yet of fly by night fans? Who dey....the Steelers dey!
  • That i agree with you on..i hate SOO many people that have jumped on the bandwagon..but i was there rooting them on when they were 3-13..born and raised in cincy, i used to get tickets for free and never paid more more than regular ticket price to go, but know days i cant get an f'n ticket for under $130!! its ridiculous...but hey im lookin foward to our game on new years eve..were either gonna be playing for everything or nothing!

    Hmm bandwagons?

I would think the steelers (like any other title winning team) has PLENTY of bandwagon fans...no, wait, I didn't mean you. Honestly, no I didn't mean you...really.

Mostly anybody that is a Bucs fan is certainly aboard the bandwagon...Name me 5 guys from the John McKay era without looking it up...

Edited to say: Or did you just start liking them because of their new, 'cool', jerseys in 97/98?

Most surprising disappointment about Pittsburgh this year is their subpar defensive play. They've been a very disappointing fantasy defense this year, lol.
